In terms of mining screen mesh, cast polyurethane (CPU) has the following advantages compared to thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU):

Higher strength and wear resistance: CPUs usually have higher strength, which makes them more resistant to wear and impact during the screening process of hard materials such as ores, thus having a longer service life. For example, in the screening operation of large mines, CPU screens may be less prone to damage or breakage than TPU screens under high-intensity working conditions, reducing the cost and downtime of frequent replacement due to screen damage. In screening scenarios such as some high hardness ores, the advantages of CPU screens are more obvious.
2. Good chemical corrosion resistance: Various chemicals may exist in mining environments, and CPUs have good chemical corrosion resistance, which can resist the erosion of these chemicals and maintain the stability of screen performance. In contrast, TPU may not perform as well as CPU in certain highly corrosive environments. For example, in the screening of ores containing acidic or alkaline substances, CPU screens can better adapt to this environment.
3. Excellent tear resistance: During the screening process, ore may exert significant pulling force on the sieve. The CPU's excellent tear resistance ensures that the sieve is not easily torn during use, maintaining the integrity of the sieve structure and ensuring the normal operation of screening work. TPU may be relatively weaker in terms of tear resistance.
4. Strong bonding with metal frame: In the production of mining screen mesh, it is usually necessary to bond with the metal frame. There is often a strong bonding force between the CPU and the metal frame, which makes the screen installed more firmly and less likely to loosen or fall off during vibration screening, ensuring the efficiency and safety of screening. The bonding effect between TPU and metal frame may be relatively poor.
5. Good dimensional stability: The CPU can maintain its dimensional stability well during long-term use, and will not undergo significant deformation due to changes in environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. This is very important for ensuring the screening accuracy of mining sieves, which can keep the aperture of the sieve uniform and improve the screening effect and product quality. In contrast, the dimensional stability of TPU may be slightly inferior.
